Pictopia was a 13 page story by Moore, illustrated by Don Simpson and published in the Comics Journal Benefit Book - Anything Goes # 2 in 1986. A stunning summation of the way comics were going, predicting the overblown grim and gritty movement.
It's almost the perfect distillate of the way Alan Moore stories worked at this stage. In fact, there was a point where he almost slipped into a parody of himself. But not quite.
