Garen Ewing, of the quite excellent Rainbow Orchid that I know Joe has talked about several times in the past has been putting together a great little A-Z of comic characters project recently. These were voted on by a facebook group formed for the very purpose and then drawn by Garen. The originals were auctioned off at the recent Caption convention.
There's a lovely and unusual mix of characters included in there, with very few of the obvious choices being picked. Well worth a look.
