Flood in Pocklington - Photos part 1

This is the view from our bedroom window at 5pm tonight.The street I'm pointing the camera at is Regent Street:

And this is the view from halfway down Regent Street, looking into the town:

And here's the photo from the other end of Regent Street. Our house is just to the left of the silver car with the headlights on:
(and yes, I did get very wet taking that photo, water nearly up to my knees)

The water got to within 40 feet of the house, enough to make us feel very nervous and start planning how we were going to get everything upstairs out of the way.
Luckily it's slowed down raining now and the water level's are holding on Regent Street and dropping in other parts of the town. We may just get away with it if we're very lucky.
