Today it was new intake day at Molly's school, where the new Reception year children come into school for the day and we, as parents, get to look at them and reminisce mistily about how small they look and how it only seems like yesterday since our little girl was like that etc etc ......
Consequently today was the day that Molly met her new teacher and went to her new classroom for next year - Year 3.
Of course, this year it was even more exciting than usual, as Year 3 is the first year of the Juniors.
And you have to go ...... up the stairs.
Good points seem to be the bigger playground, being upstairs and having a "funny" teacher
(Funny ha ha - I checked.)
Bad points are the loss of afternoon break and being small again amongst all those huge Year 4, 5 & 6 kids.
But the best line Molly came out with was just after she was telling me about Mrs Sheehan, her new "very funny" teacher in Year 3. They have a special "TC" mark in the book for really good work. If you get this, you're allowed to go and pick something out of the treasure chest.
At this point Molly pauses, turns to look me square in the face and very, very seriously says:
"Daddy, I think we're going to have a great year"
Isn't my daughter just the best?
So how can u think of depriving her of this great year by moving up to York!?
ReplyDeleteShe'll have a great year wherever she is.
ReplyDeleteBecause she is cool and we are great.
(I hope)
No really, she's likely to be happy wherever she is.
Particularly if we get her a big bed,
her own playhouse in a bigger garden
and riding lessons.
What do you mean bribery?
